The screensavers are shareware products and can be downloaded and evaluated for free for a period of seven days from initial installation.  Entry of a registration code will unlock the screensaver and remove the expiration limit if applicable, unlock additional pictures if applicable, as well as remove the periodic nag screens.  Registration details are provided on the registration page.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

- Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP or Windows NT 4.0 (or greater)

- Video display set at high color (16 bit) or true color (32 bit).

Note: It is best viewed at a screen resolution of 800 X 600 or 1024 X 768.

The screensaver is not guaranteed compatible with all versions of Vista on all computers.  It works fine on many Vista equipped computers, but there have been reported problems in a few cases.  As soon I am able to compile Vista compatible versions of the screensavers, I will update the System Requirements to include Vista.  Please test the screensaver on your Vista equipped computer using the trial version prior to purchase.

DOWNLOADING:

By clicking on the “Download Now” button next to the screensaver name below, you will initiate the downloading process.  When downloading the screensaver file, make sure that you know where it will end up. Many web browsers ask you to select where the file is to go. America On-line will send it to the "default" download directory. Often this is a folder called "download" that is in the American On-line Folder on your hard drive.

The file that is downloaded is referred to as a "compressed archive". That means it is actually four separate files that have been temporarily compressed into a single file. This makes storage on the web and downloading simpler. This file will have to be expanded back into the original folder containing four separate files. You don't need any additional software to do this. You only have to double click on the downloaded file and it will automatically begin the expanding (also called unzipping) process. A new folder will be created in the same directory as the original downloaded file and this new folder will contain four separate files called: ReadMe, Setup, License, and OrderForm. Note: some screensaver versions also contain a user's guide or release notes.

Note: Some screensavers are available in both a 800 X 600 optimized version and a 1024 X 768 optimized version.  Using the 1024 X 768 optimized version will improve picture quality for those who set their monitors to a 1024x768 or higher resolution (screen area).  Using the 800 X 600 optimized version will improve picture quality for those who set their monitors to 800 X 600 screen area.

INSTALLATION:

Expand the downloaded file by double-clicking on it. A new folder will be created in the same directory.
Open the new folder created when expanding the file.
Double-click on the Setup file and follow the on-screen prompts.
The installation program ends by opening the Display Properties Window.

Click on the settings button next to the screensaver name to open

the Screensaver Settings Window where you can make adjustments

for things like how long each picture will show before changing to

the next one, where captions are display, etc

The ReadMe file provides details of operation, set-up, registering, and unlocking the screensaver.
